Reporting record sales and addition of new material; including contemporary black and white photography by James Galloway. Competition results!
We are pleased to announce that the Fine Art specialist print service Bridgeman Art on Demand is reporting record sales. On speaking to James Old from Magnolia Box, which co-runs this operation with Bridgeman, he gives his verdict that this is due to the huge amount of imagery that is being high resolution scanned from the Bridgeman archive each month, now amounting to over one thousand. This gives the conscientious and informed art buyer the ultimate choice from a range of cultures and historical epochs. This includes those scanned from private collections and unavailable elsewhere, as well as those from our Contemporary Artists, so it is easier than ever to find something truly unique, catering to every taste.
James Galloway We are also extremely pleased to have recently added the work of Scottish photographer James Galloway, whose black and white photos taken on his travels throughout the United States, are quirky and stylish with universal appeal. 48 of his images are currently available as prints on http://www.bridgemanartondemand.com/
Competition Results Thank you to everyone who entered October's Bridgeman Buzz competition to win tickets to Sex and Seduced at The Barbican.
Many of you were eagle eyed enough to guess that the bottom belonged to the model Victoire O'Murphy from The Odalisque by Francois Boucher, pictured. Unfortunately, we can only have two winners though so our congratulations go to Stephanie Moss from the Waipu Museum and Frances Topp from FT Pictures. We hope that you will be fully seduced when you visit the show which runs until 27th January 2008. Design Week Caption Competition We also ran a caption competition in the photography issue of Design Week in November. Readers were challenged to think of a caption to go with this image of Josephine Baker with the opportunity to win a retro camera. We had some rather unusual entries but Chris Booth's caption pipped the post. Congratulations, a Diana Lomography camera is on its way to you. www.lomography.com
